Basu Dev Lamsal, former VDC Chairman has died on road accident in Kohalpur
A person died when a car (Ba. 9 Cha. 2665) knocked him at Kohalpur along the East-West Highway on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Basu Dev Lamsal, 65, of Rajhena VDC-8.
Lamsal was the former chairman of the same VDC, police said. Police have arrested driver and impounded vehicle for further action, it is learnt.

This is tragic. It is time we need to take road safety seriously. There is a big need of proper maintenance of vehicles, adequate training for drivers, penalize drink-driving as well as creating awareness among public. We need to fundamentally change our concept – speed breakers are not a solution.
