After protests from various walks of life against its directive not to play Deusi Bhailo after 7 pm, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on Monday partially corrected the decision.

A press release issued by the MoHA assistant spokesperson Ganga Bahadur Chhetri said now the merrymakers can play Deusi Bhailo till 9 pm in the evening during the Tihar festival.

On Friday, the MoHA had urged all not to conduct the cultural activity after 7 pm in the evening.

The government had claimed that “persons involved in malicious activities are to take this opportunity to cause adverse effects on peace and security.”
